Malina Baer is a Cinematographer and Documentary Filmmaker, based in Chicago.

Growing up in Northeastern Wisconsin, Malina Baer began documenting stories about the nature around her. While at DePaul University School of the Cinematic Arts, she became focused on camerawork, pursuing a BFA in Film and Television with a concentration in cinematography and a minor in documentary production.

She has worked on feature films like The Batman and TV broadcasts such as Power Book IV: Force. Malina collaborates with the Lincoln Park Zoo and Fiat. Malina is the recipient of the 2023 Archdiocese of Chicago Gabriel Fellowship and was awarded a $25,000 grant for a short documentary film titled Ministry at the Edge of Alaska, screened at Regal Cinema, Chicago, IL.

Whether shooting short films, documentaries, or commercial work, Malina enjoys collaborating in bringing stories to life. She has always had a deep appreciation for the process of creating things like films, art, and stories.
